Job Description:
We have a great opportunity with immediate start for a Site Engineer.
The role is Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, plus occasional half day on Saturdays, which will paid as a full shift.
The salary is negotiable dependent on experience and skills.
This is an exciting and varied role, requiring somebody with strong communications skills at all levels, and a true passion for construction work. Delivering high quality work is a given.
Responsibilities:
- Set out, level and survey site
- Act as main technical adviser on construction site for subcontractors, tradespeople and operatives
- Check plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations
- Ensure all materials used, and work performed is in accordance with specifications
- Oversee the selection and requisition of materials
- Agree a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project
- Manage, monitor and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect
- Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project
- Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and bylaws
- Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including regular meetings to keep them informed of progress
- Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force, and the work of any subcontractors
Experience & Qualifications Required:
- Minimum of three years of proven site experience
- Qualified to degree or HNC/ONC level in Civil Engineering or a construction related degree
- CSCS card
- TS16 and TS15 experience
- Good knowledge and experience of CAD
- Strong communication skills
- Keen eye for details
- Ability to work under pressure
